Terms of Service

1. What this service does

Skill Gap lets you save job postings, compare them against your resume using an AI service to identify skill/experience gaps, and generate tailored resume versions. It does not guarantee interviews, offers, or employment outcomes, and the AI-generated gap analysis and resume content may contain errors — you're responsible for reviewing anything generated before using it (e.g. before submitting a tailored resume to an employer).

2. Accounts

You need an account to use the service. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Free plan and paid passes

• The free plan allows up to 3 job listings, total, for the lifetime of your account. Archiving a job does not restore a slot.
• Paid access is sold as a fixed-duration pass — a one-time charge that raises or removes the job limit for a set period. Passes do not auto-renew; you will not be charged again unless you purchase another pass.
• Prices and pass durations may change. Changes don't apply retroactively to a pass you've already purchased.
• Refunds: not yet decided — contact us directly for now.

4. Acceptable use and fair use limits

You agree to use the service only for its intended purpose — managing your own job search. You agree not to:

• Use the service to process job postings, resumes, or content that isn't your own or that you don't have the right to submit
• Attempt to circumvent the free-plan job limit (e.g. creating multiple accounts to avoid it)
• Use the service in a way that places excessive load on it — including automated, scripted, or bulk use of the gap-analysis or resume-generation features beyond normal individual use
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose, or to generate content that is abusive, fraudulent, or misleading

We reserve the right to limit, throttle, suspend, or terminate access — for any account, without prior notice — if we determine, at our discretion, that usage is abusive, excessive relative to normal individual use, automated in a way that isn't intended, or otherwise being used nefariously.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of your resume and any content you upload or paste in. By using the service, you grant us the right to process that content (including sending it to a third-party AI provider) solely to provide the gap-analysis and resume-generation features. We don't use your resume or job data to train AI models or share it with anyone other than the AI provider needed to run the analysis.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is.” We don't guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated gap analyses or tailored resumes, and we're not responsible for outcomes of your job search. To the extent allowed by law, our liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

7. Termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these terms, including the fair-use limits in Section 4.
